What Diabetes Is, How It Is Treated, and What You Can Do to Prevent It

Diabetes is the name for a medical condition in which too much glucose, or sugar, builds up in the blood. Diabetes develops when the body does not make enough of the hormone insulin or makes no insulin at all. It also can develop when the body is not able to use the insulin that is made.

There are two main kinds of diabetes: type one and type two. Type one diabetes generally affects children and young people. It results from a lack of insulin production. The exact cause is not known.

Signs of the disease may develop suddenly. People suffering from type one Diabetes may develop a strong desire for food or something to drink. Other signs are increased production of liquid wastes, loss of body weight, changes in eyesight and feeling extremely tired.

Most people with type two diabetes are overweight and need physical exercise. Their bodies cannot produce enough insulin to reduce glucose levels in their blood. Or their bodies do not react correctly to the insulin being produced.

Signs of type two diabetes are similar to those of type one. But experts say many people with type two diabetes have no signs. As a result, the disease may not be recognized until after the patient has already begun to develop medical problems.

Experts say genes seem to be important in the development of diabetes. They say that about ninety percent of those with type two diabetes have family members who also had the disease.

Japan promises $100 mln of concession loan for Cambodia to reduce poverty

PHNOM PENH, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Japanese government has pledged to provide 100 million U.S. dollars of concession loan each year for Cambodia to facilitate its poverty reduction efforts, said Prime Minister Hun Sen here on Thursday. The loan will be increased by one third on annual basis and the interest rate will keep as low as 0.01 percent, he told the construction ceremony of counter-flood facilities on the Tonle SapRiver bank in Phnom Penh.Cambodia will pay it back in 40 years, he said, without giving other technical details of the loan."I urge the Cambodian government officials and the Japanese experts here to quickly take the loan to help and develop the poverty reduction projects," he added. The loan deal was reached by both parties while Hun Sen paid his recent visit to Singapore to attend the ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asia Nations) meetings.International institutions have put the poverty rate of the kingdom at 35 percent.

Want to Stay Warm in Winter? Think COLD

Winter is coming. Are you ready?

Winter to me is snow and having fun activity such as skiing, making snow man, christmas and so forth. But cold weather can cause people to suffer frostbite and hypothemia. These can cause minor damage to your health and sometimes deadly.

Thus, you must be ready (esp. for those who just face winter for the first time). Think of COLD.
- C: Cover
- O: Overexertion
- L: Layers
- D: Dry

As recommended in L, you should wear many layers of clothes rather than just one thick jacket (opposed to Mr. Kimret's idea about how to wear).

For full detail, visit http://voanews.com/specialenglish/2007-12-11-voa3.cfm

Have fun in winter season. Be safe.

PS: for the who has someone inside her body, i think she can go skiing this year. Poor you are. However, congratulation those those couple.

NHK develops tracking system for pirated movies

Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 07:45 EST

TOKYO — NHK on Wednesday unveiled a new system to put hidden identifiers into films to trace counterfeit works distributed over the Internet. The system, developed with Mitsubishi Electric Corp, consists of highly detailed electronic signals which are put inside films and other visual works but invisible to the human eye.

If a person copies the film at a cinema or in front of a television screen, his or her camera will automatically tape the signal which will stay in the machine's memory. Automatic software can then search the Internet using the coded signal to find any works that have been illegally copied.
"The signal will stay and can be traced, even if only part of the image is put on line," NHK and Mitsubishi Electric said in a joint statement. "We hope that this system, once fine-tuned, will manage to better protect the rights of copyright holders," the companies said, adding they eyed to put it into use soon.

The code can also help authorities trace the exact cinema and screening at which the person illegally taped a film.

Student Association

History:

More than 10 years ago, Cambodian students have again come to study in Japan. The number of students have increased year by year. Then, CSAJ (Cambodian Students Association in Japan) based in Tokyo was created to serve as the interface for the communication between Cambodian students in Japan.

However, with more increase of student numbers in many parts of Japan, leads to difficulty in control by CSAJ alone. As the result, about 5 years ago, students in remote areas have estiblished associations in Kyushu, Kansai and Nagoya to serve the purpose of garthering and communication.

Bear the idea of unification of Cambodian students in Japan, only one student association should exist in Japan. Regional student association in Japan should be classified under the highest hierachy- CSAJ. To meet the logic of the hierachy, the Tokyo based association was changed to CSAK( Cmbodian Student association in Kanto).

As the resutlt, under CSAJ, now there are Kanto Club, Kyushu Club, Kansai Club and CSAN.

Problem:
Under geographic hierachy, we in Toyohashi should be in Cambodian Student Association in Chubu, which doesnt exist. The existing association in this area is the CSAN(Cambodian Student Association in Nagoya). As the name says, it is originally created to serve students in Nagoya only.

As the fact, we in Toyohashi do not belong to any assocition althogh we are close to CSAN.

Point:

There is an idea that:
--> Studentin Toyohashi should belong to some association.
--> CSAN should open to integrate all students in Chubu area as member.

Action:
What should we do? There are 3 options:
1) Stay unbelonged as now
2) Integrated with CSAN
3) Create a new association
-----> Lets discuss and give your idea with condition and decision

Related event:
Students in Nagoya will also discuss about this problem in their annual assembly December 1, 2007.
Our decision and condtions will be taken into account. And we are invited to the meeting.
Good-by Kimreth

I think all of us know about traffic sign, if not all, at least some basic. I try to read the sign (as attached), but its meaning is different from what i've ever known before. Maybe it's a new traffic sign (new meaning, of course). Special for Phanna, as he's driving without licence, he should learnt this sign carefully.

Welfare party for Bong Kimreth,

Time does fly. I just feel like it was yesterday that we gathered around and had a warm welcome party for Worthn and me, but it was actually already over two months and we just had a welfare party for one of our Toyohashi friends, Bong Sovann. Once again, bong Kimreth is going to leave us for our beloved country, Cambodia, in two weeks for his difficult mission have been well completed. In order to say congratulation as well as good bye to him and maybe to kill our enemies together in either Age of Empire II or Age of Mythology, we really should have a cheerfully big party again and this weekend could be the best time for us. But to make the party reality, we must surely have all of friends' consents. So I would like our friends to give ideas about, Place, Time and Food. So please give comments here!
For our TUT cam Friends...
PS: Let me give my opinion here, My house might be a good option for this party and BorBor Moin, is probably good for this deadly cold weather, lolz....but I will be busy on Saturday afternoon maybe from 1pm to 4pm :(

Next Generation Tyre?

Just get it from my friend. Don't know it's true or not.
-------------------------------------------------------------

No air! And much less petroleum in their manufacture. Check these out...

Thought you might like to see the next generation of tires. This is what great R&D will do and just think of the impact on existing technology:

- no more air valves
- no more air compressors at gas stations
- no more repair kits

Find the lowest VOIP rate to your destination

Interstingly, one of my friends just forward a web link that list and compare all (or almost all of) the internet call rate (VOIP). The link is http://backsla.sh/betamax

However, what will you do after you find out that certain provider give the lowest price to call to your destination? Will you buy? How about in the future another provider gives another competitive rate? For me, i'm still a fan of VOIPDiscount as i don't have a lot of money to use so many providers.

Information only.

Sperm Sample

Sperm Sample

A 75-year old man went to his doctor's office to get a sperm count. The doctor gave the man a jar and said, "Take this jar home and bring me back a sample tomorrow."

The next day, the 75-year old man reappears at the doctor's office and gives him the jar, which is as clean and empty as on the previous day. The doctor asks what happened, and the man explains,

"Well, doc, it's like this. First I tried with my right hand, but nothing. Then I tried with my left hand, but nothing. Then I asked my wife for help.

She tried with her right hand, but nothing. Then her left, but nothing. She even tried with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then with the teeth out, and still nothing.

Hell, we even called up the lady next door, and she tried with both hands and her mouth too, but nothing."

The doctor was shocked. "You asked your NEIGHBOUR?"

The old man replied, "Yep, but no matter what we tried, we couldn't get the damn jar open!"

Get your mind out of the gutter!!!
